Tag

Each tag is attached to your equipment and periodically transmits its ID signal (active RFID). If a tag is not in communication with a tracker, Overview will show the last known GPS location for that specific tag. The typical lifespan of a tag is from 8 to 10 years.

Tracker

Typically, trackers are installed in vehicles, warehouses, and job sites. Each tracker knows its GPS location and listens for tags when powered.  When a tracker is in range of a tag, it hears the tag's signal, and then communicates with Overview using cellular messaging. These trackers are key for the system to work properly because tags are located through these devices.

Job Site with Tracker

GPS- Active: A job site with a tracker present must have access to cell and GPS reception. A job with a GPS-active tacker will show all tags at that location and provide Overview with exact job site coordinates.

Job Site with Tracker

GPS-Inactive: A job site with a tracker that is GPS-inactive will still require cell reception. This type of job site will show all tags present at the location and will allow the users to specify the job site location manually on Overview.

Job Site without Tracker

An untracked job site must be set up manually and does not have a tracker present. This means that when tagged assets are dropped off by a vehicle equipped with a tracker at the untracked job site, they will be associated with that job site and shown at that job site until removed by a vehicle equipped with a tracker.  When utilizing job sites without trackers, it is important that all vehicles that transport tagged assets have trackers installed.

Vehicles with Tracker

Vehicle trackers are always GPS active, meaning that they will report GPS location, ignition status, and any tags present.

Container

Referred to as anything that can hold tags. For example, a vehicle, warehouse, job site, etc.

Vehicle History

The vehicle history report shows a vehicle’s movement in a given period.

Job Site History

The job site history report shows the assets that have moved in and out of a job site over the life of that job site, including asset type, name, how long the asset was at the job site, when the asset was delivered and when it was removed and finally, what vehicle delivered or removed the asset.

Location History

This report details where an asset has traveled in a given period.

Asset History

Displays an assets movement in and out of a job site or warehouse in a given period.

Current Status

Lists the current status of your assets, not vehicles and not containers.  It enumerates the last time and position an asset was seen by any kind of a tracker, be it vehicle, warehouse, portable or otherwise.
