Tag Sniffer and Tag Tally Application Installation

Application and Tool Setup

Before starting the application, you will need to determine which COM port your tag sniffer utilizes. These steps will walk you through the process.


Step 1

Open Computer Management on your computer.

 

You can find Computer Management quickly by typing in “Computer Management” into the Windows OS Start Menu search bar.



Step 2
Next, click on  Device Manager  and expand  Ports (COM & LPT).



Step 3

Plug the Tag Sniffer tool into an available USB slot on your computer with the Ports (COM & LPT) still expanded.

 

You will see a new COM port pop into the list. The Tag Sniffer tool in this example is displayed as USB Serial Port (COM4).

 

Take a note of the COM # associated with your Tag Sniffer tool.



Step 4
Download and extract the “Tagally.zip” software emailed to you by an Overview Customer Representative.



Step 5
Double-click on the “setup.exe” file.



Step 6 
Select  Install  on the next prompt.



Step 7 
On the next prompt, select  More info.



Step 8 

 Select Run anyway.



Step 9 
With the Tag Sniffer still plugged into your computer, select the COM port noted in Step 3 above.



Step 10 
The application window will be displayed as follows. I will detail the functions of this application below this set of instructions.

 To locate anything in the list, use the White List feature.


 To find anything NOT in the list, use the Black List  feature.


 Once tag search determined, select Search For Tags.


 You can select STOP Search at any time.


You can also email the results to yourself or save the results to a file on your computer.

You can also export the results to a text file by selecting Export Text List.
