When a piece of equipment can't be found, work through these steps in order. Most equipment turns up by step 3.
1 Search Find it by name or tag. | 2 Trace Check its history. | 3 Sweep Run Missing Equipment. | 4 Search On Site Use a Tag Sniffer. |
TIP Not in the list? Check Find > Unseen Equipment, and ask your administrator whether it's marked Hidden. |
Run Report > Equipment History for that equipment over the last few weeks. The last rows show the last vehicle it rode in and where it was dropped off. See Equipment History Report.
Run Report > Missing Equipment with Days Since Seen set to 7. Equipment that went missing together, such as from the same job, usually shows up together. See Missing Equipment Report.
For the last job it was at, run Report > Job Site History and filter Equipment Removed for N/A. Anything listed was never picked up. Send a truck with an Overview tracker: as soon as it gets close, the tag will be heard.
If you have a Tag Sniffer, walk the site with it and the Tag Tally software. See Tag Sniffer and Tag Tally Application Installation.
