User Roles and Permissions

Every Overview login has a role that decides what the person can see and change. There are three roles.

NOTE

Some items can't be deleted even by an Administrator. Customer Support can help with those.

Which Role to Give

RoleGood For
UserTechnicians, crew leads and office staff who need to look things up and run reports.
SuperUserEquipment managers and dispatchers who add equipment, set up job sites and fix asset details.
AdministratorOne or two people who manage logins and company settings.

TIP

Give each person the lowest role that lets them do their job. Keep Administrators to a small number.

Hidden and Admin View

Two checkboxes on every asset control who sees it:

  • Hidden: only SuperUsers and Administrators see it. Good for retired equipment.
  • Admin View: only Administrators see it.

In the Admin > Asset list these assets are shown in a different color. Click the Information (i) button to see the color key.

Change Someone's Role

  1. From the left-hand menu, select Admin, then User.
  2. Click the person's row, then the pencil (Edit).
  3. Choose a new Role and click Save.

Only Administrators can change roles. In the old portal this was on a separate Roles page; it's now the Role field on each user.
